Easily one of the best online games I've ever played. The only game I can think of that I've spent more time on is Starcraft. It takes some getting used to, but once you get used to the classes and figure out how to play, it beats the hell out of any other FPS I've ever played. Plus it comes with the Orange Box and HL2 and Portal are great as well, so there's not much downside unless you somehow manage to hate all three games.
An online FPS with different classes? So there are actually some strategies to mess around with? Interesting.
HL2 seems meh compared to the other games in the pack. But Portal seems like a blast.
I wouldn't call Half-Life 2 meh. It's more that you don't have much of an urge to play through it again after you've already finished it and the online play is pretty forgettable. Portal is amazing the first time through, but is the same deal. TF2 is easily the best part of the Orange Box just based on the strength of the online play and the amount of variety. I have about 35 hours clocked so far and it's still as fun as ever.
